Neighbours at the end of the 1960's, with toddlers of the same age, I have fond memories of her friendship, her always open door - and her medical advice. It wasn't unusual to see Shirley browsing through the BMJ as the children played around her. However, like her Mother who lived next door, she was always 'the same', warm, kind and generous with her time and interest. She will be missed.
