A True Christian Friend

Created by Dora 2 years ago

Dearest Shirley, I remember our first Christmas in the Curate's cottage.  We received an anonymous box of Christmas 'extras' like crackers, chocolates, oranges et cetera, which was left outside our front door.  They were things that you knew we couldn't afford on a Curate's stipend!  We knew that it was from you though, as we had already experienced the true Christian love that emanated from your very being.

Later you always made me so welcome if I happened to just drop by on my way through Uppingham and you gave me real support when I needed it most, and we've kept in touch ever since!

You were/are, so very proud of your four children, although you never boasted about how they'd all got on in life.  You loved them and all your grandchildren equally and they are all such a credit to you and Richard!

The heavenly realms will welcome you, such a faithful servant, with open, joyful arms and we, left behind, must honour your wishes by being joyful also, although there will be a sadness not to see or hear from you!  Our hope is that we'll meet again some day, yet we are still connected, as our Lord is with you and us together at this time and for ever more!  May you rest in peace and rise in glory!
